Muffins are the greatest (and most underrated) breakfast food.
I still stand by my statement in my original muffin recipe post (which you can read by clicking here) – muffins are the best breakfast food. All of my claims still hold true – they are delicious, fun to make, can be made in advance (need I go on?).
There are SO many yummy and healthy recipes out there, that we never get bored of them.
Muffins will always be my favorite go-to breakfast choice for me and my littles. We make them every single week together. I love the time we spend together in the kitchen each week making them – it’s so nice when an everyday ‘chore’ can be turned into a fun weekly activity by simply involving the kids.

Pair your breakfast muffins with protein.
But don’t fall victim to a carb-only breakfast (aka ONLY serving a muffin and skipping out on protein), or else you’ll be left feeling hungry well before snack time (and your kids will be too).
I like to pair our breakfast muffins with easy protein options that can be made in advance (a must in my house) or ready-made protein options.
Breakfast sausage, bacon, oven-cooked eggs, and egg casseroles are great make-ahead options. Greek yogurt, peanut butter, or cottage cheese are three great ready-made choices. An alternative would be making a smoothie containing Greek yogurt.
Lastly, don’t forget the fruit!
But don’t stop there. In order to complete the meal and have it be super filling, add in a good amount of fresh fruit (or a smoothie). NOW you’ve got a balanced meal!

I swear by this HUGE mini muffin pan. In years past, I always just used the traditional mini muffin pans that make 24, but it was taking me twice as long to bake mini muffins. That’s why I upgraded to this 48 count mini muffin pan – I can make an entire batch in one go. Such a game-changer!
If your regular muffin tins are looking like they’ve seen better days, it might be time to replace them. I always choose Wilton baking pans for my kitchen needs, like these regular muffin tins and jumbo muffin tins.
